SOCKS ROCK!

Well I can finally talk about something that I've been working on and having to keep secret from my 5 faithful followers! And that secret is............

SOCKS!!!!!!!!!

I sent my BF, Lola, the Yarn Harlot book for Christmas. In January she sent me this letter telling how I've made her dishcloths and they are wonderful and all, but that true frienship was SOCKS! So I jumped in! Had never tried dpns (double points) or knitting in the round in my life!

My first sock! I did a basic tube sock. Just knit 3 purl 3 and did some decreasing for the toe. It turned out really cute but don't know if I will ever make it's mate. So I made a sock hanger and I'm going to hang it on the knob of my entertainment center.

The first pair of real socks. These were for Lola. I used Bernat Sox, that seems to no longer be available or I could just be blonde.

I'm really proud of them, holes and ladders, and all!

Here's Lola wearing her sock trying to do "Butterfly's" famous pose.

I love my wacky friends!!!!!

And here's sock yarn for the next and future pairs. Cascade Fixation.

Can't wait to make myself a pair. I'm going to go cast on right now!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

My Motto

The new motto for my life.....

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, CHOCOLATE in one hand, YARN in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!!!!!"

Knitwits Knit

The Knitwits got together on Sunday for some knitting and to celebrate Lishy's birthday.

I knit her this dresser scarf. I used Sugar and cream cotton and the "baby genious" pattern from Mason-Dixon Knitting.

Butterfly worked on some socks. Jaywalkers with her koolaid dyed yarn. They were really cute.

As usual, Butterfly tried to put her "knitting project" on her head! LOL

I finished up a "secret project" , which I can finally post about real soon.

Crocs!

I am totally hooked on crocs! They are the most comfortable shoes for my achey feet.

10 pairs and counting!

Why I Knit......

The Man sleeping and snoring. 24/7

The Brat on the computer. 24/7

Hey ! Kool-aid!

Went to Butterfly's and watched as she dyed sock yarn with Kool-aid! Fun!

I took more pictures of the process but my camera ate them!

Now I want to get my own yarn and try this dyeing stuff.

And it smells great!

Floppy head

No wonder why I really like Buttefly!

No matter what she's knitting, she will put it on her head! This is a tank top.

She's the goofball I dream to be!

Knit-In

Sunday I had a six hour "Knit-In". I invited all the knitters I knew and they could come and stop in for a little while or for the whole 6 hours.

Butterfly, Lishy, Suzy, and Lola! You were all missed!

Dee cast on for a shrug using size 50 needles and 3 strands of yarn.

Sassy worked on a scarf and is holding her first crocheted baby hat. Cute!

Caroline worked on a pink scarf for another aunt.

At the end of the Knit-In, Dee had a finished shrug. So pretty and soft! The picture does not do it justice!

And.....I worked on a fun new project but can't show pictures because it's a bithday present for one of my readers!

Next time we are planning on a Knit-Out!

Knitting Night Birthday

Caroline had Friday Night Knitting at her house! We got to celebrate her birthday with her!

She worked on a pink scarf for her aunt.

I finished a baby hat for Little Mist's senior project.

Dee helped Sassy bind off her first scarf.

Hey! there had to be food and boy was there! Caroline out did herself on the meal! YUM!!!!!

Caroline's daughter, Hannah, joined us for a little bit. She's our youngest member. She's working on an orange scarf.

Caroline, hope you had as much fun as we did!

Kitchen Update

I updated the kitchen with some handmades. Yes! They are pink! The Man has his own kitchen at his house so I can enjoy the Pink in mine! LOL

Of course I had to crochet and knit some dishcloths!

The Brat and I spent a Saturday afternoon painting pictures. I think the big one is kinda lame looking! And I can say that because I painted it! I am thinking about either redoing it or ditching it for a new one

The Brat did great on hers.

A crocheted rug, holding two strands of cotton together. I love it!

Goodbye Charlie

Charlie, "my boy" was hit by a car early this morning. My good friend and Charlie's adoptive mother , Caroline, let me know this sad, sad news.

He just celebrated his first birthday a couple of weeks ago.

Charlie, you will be greatly missed .

This is one of my favorite pictures of Charlie as a kitten.

Grumpy Mumbles

Not much to post.....just the information that I HAVE BEEN GRUMPY and BORED! Maybe it's the blah winter weather. Maybe it's this freaking cold I've had for two weeks. I am in a funk of a mood.

I'm even bored with the yarn and that's really hard to believe. I need a pattern to spark my interest or something. I just keep on making dishcloths , one after another.

And last but not least, I'm blah about Valentine's Day. The Man gave me diamonds and rubies, which is awesome! But..... there were no loving words and that's what matters, right??????

Crocheted Colts Colored Cloths...say that 3 times fast!

Instead of having a heart attack or pulling my hair out last night during the game.....I CROCHETED DISHCLOTHS!

I think they turned out cute!

I am so proud of our team and can't wait for the Super Bowl!!!

I will have to get some more blue cotton so I can make some more dishcloths during the Super Bowl.

Anything to bring us luck! Hey it worked last night, didn't it! LOL
