Let's take a moment shall we and rejoice in the finishing of the livingroom afghan that was began in January of 2008!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Most of the hours of crocheting this crocheted granny square were while watching Charmed.

So it is only fitting that earlier today I got the final dvd of Season 6 to work......had not been working for umpteem tries..... finished the last row and wove in all the ends!!!!!

Now off to start something new .....OF COURSE!!!!!.......Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Jessie sold her truck and finally found a Jeep! So now we are a 2 Jeep family!!!!

Clay Day 2009

The first Saturday in August we always head to Brown County to paint pots with my sister and Jeanne at Spear's annual Clay Day.

The weather was beautiful, it was fun, and our pots turned out good!

The Chick is back in The House!

I have returned from another fireworks season.....barely! lol

Don't get me wrong! There were plenty of fantastic moments. Crocheting, listening to the pink ipod, visits from friends and the bestest friend!!!!, some actual bonding with the teenager! and all ending with a fabulous fireworks show put on by my friend David!

But it's back to reality now. The real world awaits. The rest of the summer is going fast already. I'm trying to keep busy, living life on the edge! lol

WWKIP 2009

Yesterday was World Wide Knit in Public Day. Lishy and I had the sticks and string agoing at the laundry mat last night.....nothing unusual for us..... She was working on a blanket and me a tank top.

Started the day out with knitting a red,white, and blue coaster for a friend.......realized the needles I had in my bag were way too little for it, ripped it out and pulled the crochet hook out and made two. I also crocheted a headband for my nephew.....yeah...that's a whole other story....ROFLOL!

So, this yarnchick actually had a Knip and Crip day!

Bits and String

Though not perfect, the store is up and running for the season.

Last year at this time it was still full of boxes left to unpack and price....so we seem to be off to a good start.

The new door and window are not put in yet. When I hear someone pull up I say.....please let it be a hot sexy man. Jessie thinks it's funny! ....because it never is dammit!

Yesterday I ran out of yarn! I know! It was horrific!

But I luckily found some brightly colored string in the back room and crocheted me a coaster!

Today I am making sure to take enough!

That Time

I was just moseying along minding my own business in this happy little life I am trying so hard to live......and......WHAM! Where in the Heck has this year gone?????

My friends, it snuck up behind me....THAT TIME!!!!....it's here already!!!! It seems wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too soon, but it is so!!!

IT IS OFFICIALLY FIREWORKS TIME!!!!! I know, it can't possibly be already...I still have school into June dammit! But.....

We unloaded the truck today, already got pissed off with "the boss", and I made my first sale!

As you may well have remembered....I "retired" last year from this business of crackle- boom- bang........but the strong need for moola during the summer and because I somehow enjoy torturing myself,lol......I have returned for another year!

Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it!

And two quick stories .........we were finished unloading and putting stuff out and this boy comes into the store and looks past everyone and says......"There you are" ...looking at me....."you are the one I buy from!"

and Fucktard/ Bossman/ Shithead is running his mouth to one of our advertisers and is going on about one of "his biggest customers" and I walk over and say...."Excuse me, but that is MY customer you are talking about!".

So.......even though it isn't the yarn shop of my dreams.......after 6 years of doing it.........I got my own people!...and that kinda makes me a little happy!

I will close this post with a big sigh, lots of hopes, and the assurance that........I WILL RETURN!!!............after the 4th!

Pink of the Week(11)

Today was a Monday morning......and it looked like "great minds" were thinking a like.......pink and khakis!

I don't get to see my friend Dee very much lately. She hides upstairs at work....hehehehe... and there haven't been any yarnchick Monday nights for awhile.....I think she lost the yarn love. lol

But......I still love you my friend!!!!!!

The Teenager's Tank Top

The first thing the Teenager has ever asked me to make her........a tank top.

And......it actually fits and she likes it!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I used I Love This Cotton and it is a girlie kinda camo color. Perfect for my "country fishergirl".

Now that it is done.....she now wants a fish hat and a crocheted Pikachu.

But first....I've gotta finish the never ending blue shrug that I knit on for a couple of hours yesterday and it didn't even grow an inch!, make my pink shrug for the wedding which is at the beginning of June, and start on my lace tee.

Went to the Recycling Center on a feild trip on Friday. Been on this trip umpteen times and always love and want one of the hand chairs.

And this time I was greeted with a PINK one smack in the middle!

I want I want I want!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't it look awesome in my backyard, which I'm getting ready to make into a relaxing haven?????

Pink of the Week(8)...or how I was a Super Hero for a few hours!

It all started with a Lishy thought......you know where those lead.....hehehe

She brought over some duct tape and of course because she loves me...mine was PINK!

We put on t-shirts and proceeded to tape each other up...........you can see hers on her blog.

So you might think we were having a kinky moment( it was the most action I've had in a while!) but No, we were making dressforms!

We began with an X! Then she taped me up while I held my breath....I didn't want it in my true shape with my belly sticking out did I????? Oh, yeah, I think that was the point wasn't it Lish??? We wanted dressforms in our own shapes.....lol

Then I had a PINK POWER moment. I was a super-hero.........able to help people with my Pinkness.hehehehe

Last step, trust your friend to cut the damm thing off you, stuff it, cop a feel on your boobies and call it a day!

Fun evening! Now I need to just find some kind of stand thing to stick it on cause it is just sitting in the livingroom for now and it fell over last night and made the Teenager scream!

In the Dark

This PINK chick did her GREEN part tonight. I turned off the lights and went un-plugged for Earth Hour.

I had all the makings of a romantic make-out session going on......the apartment was dimly lit with scented candles, 80's sappy love songs were playing in the background, and I was wearing something cleavage revealing..........just one thing missing........A MAN! ROFLOL!

So how did I spend my hour in the dark???? Well, I actually tried to knit. How hard would it be to knit stockinette???? I got half a row of the teenager's tank and split the yarn on a stitch. Instead of making it worse or trying to fix it with the sight of a bat I put it down.

I spent the rest of the hour watching the lightening and contemplating life's mysteries!

Note to self.....see if they make those light up knitting needles in circulars....

Now the lights are back on, the smell of orange dreamsicles lingers in the air, and the knit stitch is fixed.

Spring Break 2009

In a few short hours it will be back to the old work grind!

This Spring Break was actually pretty damm good!!!

So the enjoyable things all wrapped up together....

Sunshine, warmness, PINKness, flip flops, shopping, The teenager's 16th Birthday,Nashville, palm reading, finished baby blanket, sister lunch,Tapatios, outlet mall, yarn ball fondling, special handshake, lots of laughter, camels,tanning bed, knit a baby bib, pink yarn, Indy knit shop, Logan's Steakhouse, chocolate on my ass, laundry matness, and.......THE EDWARD (Twilight)!!!!!!!!

It was all good! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

A napkin is not always a napkin...

The Teenager and I went to lunch with Julie and Jeanne today. Tapatios. Yum!

Jeanne out of the blue holds up her napkin and says "This is my shrug". It looked like a napkin to me! ROFLOL!

I knew what she meant.......she had crocheted a basic rectangle shrug and I had given her sewing up directions months ago...she hasn't sewn it up yet and wanted a reminder lesson........but she made me laugh so hard!!!!!




If you look closely I drew her directions on the napkin including where to insert arms! hehehehe

Mindless knitting for the time spent at the laundry with Lishy when I am talking so much I can't follow a pattern.

I used one skein of I Love This Yarn in sport weight. and yes!!!!! my friends there is OF COURSE some PINK in that Clap!!!!!!! =)

Wal*Mart has something very awesome for Easter! Goodies displayed by color!

Pink!!!!

Pink lollipops, cotton candy, Kisses, Reese cups, Pink chocolate bunnies, my favorite pink Peep bunnies, and even pink cherry drink mix!

I looked at the teenager who was rolling her eyes at me while I was snapping this picture and said that I thought it would be totally fantastic to have a totally pink Easter basket!...hint hint hint...... I don't think she got it.

Also not pictured.....I got another stuffed pink Peep bunnie for the collection....

And the teenager got another pair of Nikes last night that were black and hot pink. wonder how long she will have these till she gets bored and I can "borrow" them.......hehehehe
