I, Amy G., along with my panties are responsible for flooding the laundry mat on this fine sunny day!
How embarrassing! ......and kinda.......How funny!!!!
I was busy talking to Lishy and didn't check to see that the front loader was securely closed.
Then the water started coming and coming and coming........
UGH!
The reason......panty string caught in the door!
I luckily felt a little better when I was told by the nice lady mopping up my mess that it wasn't the first time!
Lishy!!!!! You gotta watch me closer!!!!!....=)
And.......
you know when I am with Lishy......there has got to be something funny said...
Here's today's...
"I got 6 inches." (me)
"I'm not used to it being so stubby." (me)
"Mine is ginormous!" (Lishy)
"I got 6 balls!" (Lishy)
"Mine has nuts." (me)
and......
"Wow! That's freaking huge! I've never seen one so big!" (me)
A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and a whole bunch of YARN! This is Me! This is my life.....

Reflections
Well if I was a tree.....on Monday I added another ring to my trunk.lol
It was a good day all and all. I got Birthday wishes and gifts from all the special people in my life! I got brownies! And I spent a nice evening with The Teenager at the movies....after some tense weeks in her presence.
I didn't get no hot passionate birthday kiss...but maybe next year! hehehe
And.....for the second year in a row.....my Dad forgot my birthday!!!
And.....I really miss my mom a lot right now!!!
Growning up...on our special day my sister and I got to pick our favorite meal for Mom to make. I would always have home made mac n cheese or chicken spaghetti bake. And for dessert.....always, always, always...it would be sugar cream pie! YUM!
I wish my mom was here right now! not for the food! lol...Just for that motherly advice. How would she have dealed with me if I was as horrible as The Teenager was??? My sister says I was...hehehe....but I really can't remember...
I remember telling my mom everything! Crying to her when my boyfriend was a jerk...and she even knew I was eloping before anyone else knew.lol
I want that love, that friendship with my own daughter dammit!!! Can we get through this phase quickly please????
Ok....thanks for listening...gonna go put my big girl panties on and go pick her up from her Dad's and hope beyond hope she can be in a somewhat decent mood! Wish me luck!!!

It was nowhere near calm!!!
Ok...you that know me well, know I have been knitting since I was 8...you know when I came over on the ARK...and crocheting since I was about 10. I have taken a long extended break from knitting...because it effects my carpal tunnel and I rather enjoy the crocheting and being able to throw my project down and when I pick it back up, don't have to deal with dropped stitches...
But I needed some variety in my life and needed a change up! And I also was looking for something to help relieve stress...which all knitters near and far proclaim knitting does...and WE ALL KNOW I AIN'T GETTING THAT OTHER STRESS RELIEVER!!! LOL
So I begun my knitting journey this past week...
It began with my friend Lishy wanting do do a buddy knit of a simple tank top knitted in the round...
It called for size 6 circulars that were 24 inches. All I had was 29 inchers. Lishy told me they would work....and I believed her.................. for a moment...
I cast on and when I tried to join the ends...it wouldn't work. Not enough stitches to go around the damm circular needle. I threw it across the room!
The next day I looked at it and growled!
The day after that I decided...Hey! I will knit it on straights! That way it will fit on the needles and I can also change up the pattern cause I will have a wrong side...and I won't get as bored...I cast on... oh, and I also went up a size on needles...to 7's...cause I knit tight...well...I always do the long tail cast on....I have done this cast on since I was in high school home ec and my teacher said the loopy cast on I had been doing just wasn't gonna cut it....
So here I am doing the long tail cast on....and my freaking tail wasn't long enough!
So I threw it across the room.
A couple of hours later I pick it back up. Rip and start over....this time my tail is more than long enough..I think I had almost half the ball of yarn left hangin there! lol
So I knit my first row. A simple knit 3 purl 2 ribbing.
I proceed to the second row which is purl 3 knit 2...duhhhhh.........and somewhere my mind goes to Hawaii and laying on the beach with some hot guy who will love all things about me..or you know...I was in lala...and I screwed up the pattern!!!
I threw it across the room!
Then on Saturday Kristi buys me an early birthday present....circulars...size 8 and 24 inchers...
Lishy comes over on Sunday and we both cast on. We knit one row.......
It seems all is well......
Except this tank knit in the round looks like its gonna fit my 6 year old neice Ella and not my big ass!!!! But Lishy says have faith...and so I shall and press on!
I got an inch knit so far!

Blasted Blahs!
Well....my friends, my Summer is coming to a quick end and The Yarnchick is just not happy about it!
I did not get done all that I wanted to accomplish. That ticks me off, but hey! It's my own fault right???
I had several crafty projects planned...are any of them finished?????Nopes!
I wanted to spend more time with certain friends....did that happen????Nope!
Part of me just wants to get in the car and go track them down...wouldn't you love it if I showed up on your doorstep?????hehehe.....
But nope...that's not how I am...if I was, I am sure I would get more of the things I want! Dang it!
Anyways...enough with the Blahsssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!
Lets see...what am I thankful for????
Friends, Lishy in particular....who is just a text away when I am having a moment...she's always there to "text me down"...and The Hermit lessons are greatly appreciated!
Even though it is back to working and job time...I still have weekends off! Can't complain about that!!!!!
and...it's great that even though I feel really old having a daughter that will be a sophomore...she is being nice to her old mother and letting her drive her Jeep!...I really think its cause she was embarrassed to have mom pull up in the Thundercrap and pick her up from school...hehehe...either way...I'm not complaining!
Hugs to you all and of course hope!!!!!!
Luv you!!!!

Clay Day 2008
The Teenager and I headed to Clay Day in Brown County again this year. It is our 3rd year going and painting pots with my sister and Jeanne.
As usual...it was fun....and DAMM HOT!!!!
We don't make the pots, we paint them and then they fire them and then put them in sawdust. The technique is called Raku and comes from Japan.
The teeager and I each made 3 pots....Here I am with my favorite of the day.
My sister and the Teenager painting their pots.
My 3 pots. If the picture was brighter you could see the cool colors better...the one on the left is a coppery goldish brown with white crackle at the top. The one in the middle is a green with black background and white flowers, and the one on the right is a marbley turquoise...
