Colossal Cupcake

Friday was one of the Yarn Chicks Birthdays. It was Dee's! She told me she liked the color lime green.

So................ I made her a huge green cupcake!

I got the idea from the cute cupcakes in the One Skein book and from an entry on the One Skein blog.

I knitted the bottom of the cupcake and just put the skein of yarn in it. That way Dee can use the yarn to make something cute and she can also change the "flavor" of her cupcake by just popping a new skein in.

Next time.... I will make smaller, "real size" cupcakes and try my hand at a knitting on "icing".

Also, I made her a lime green "napkin" to go with her cupcake. Secretly this "napkin" is called "The Triple C ". Why?????????

Well I knitted it the other night while watching American Idol . I know I must have cried a tear drop or two on it when Chris was voted off! So it's secret name is The Chris Cupcake Coaster!

Oink Oink!

When my friend Lisa came over the other night she brought me a present! Tons and tons of cute pigs! ( one of the many things I collect)

Aren't they all adorable!? That was so sweet of her!

Double Crochet Lesson

My friend Lisa stopped by The Man's house the other night for a quick crochet lesson on double crochet. Things went smoothly just like when she learned single crochet. We had fun!

Raccoon,Fox, and Bobcat, Oh My!

The Brat had to make sock puppets for a science project. She asked for my help. You know teenagers......she wanted me to do all the work! LOL Wonder what my grade will be???

My Man and Michaels!

I talked The Man into taking me to Michael's which is 45 minutes away. He asked why I needed to go there. Didn't I have enough yarn???? I told him that they had stuff there that our stores didn't. He rolled his eyes but headed there anyways! Gotta love him!

I got some more Patons to felt and got some bamboos in size 8. I love these needles! Michaels carries them in every size imaginable!

Forever

I have been looking for a copy of Forever Amber for years! I absolutely love this book. It is a classic! I read it a couple of years ago . I had checked it out from the library. I have searched since then for a copy of my own. I picked this up at Half Price Books for 3 bucks! Yippee!!!!!

A Book With One Million Pages!

My favorite books in my lifetime are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I am currently reading number 6 in the series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. I have been reading it for about a month and have just now reached page 100! I'll probably still be reading it next year at this time. LOL The pages just seem to grow and grow!

Knitting and crocheting take all my free time that used to be devoted to books. Maybe I need to start listening to audio books. Ha!

Memories of Mom

In search of a box of knitting needles from years ago I came across a great memory of my Mom! I found her knitting bag! She used to knit me sweaters and if I am remembering it right, kept her work in progress in this bag.
