Crocheted Colts Colored Cloths...say that 3 times fast!

Instead of having a heart attack or pulling my hair out last night during the game.....I CROCHETED DISHCLOTHS!

I think they turned out cute!

I am so proud of our team and can't wait for the Super Bowl!!!

I will have to get some more blue cotton so I can make some more dishcloths during the Super Bowl.

Anything to bring us luck! Hey it worked last night, didn't it! LOL

Yarn Chicks again.

We got together again before the New Year. It was fun to see everyone, even though I was in severe pain. I woke up that morning with a piched nerve in my back. OUCH!

I worked on a dishcloth for my kitchen.

Little Mist worked on her fun fur scarf. She's doing great! There was no way my first knitting project could have involved fun fur. Too hard to see the stitches. WOW! We are so proud of her!

Suzy gave Sassy another knitting lesson.

Dee worked on a baby cap for charity. Cute!

Knipping and Cripping

I had my very first "knitting in public" and "crocheting in public" experience with the Knitwits. We headed for the local mall and while Butterfly's kids played at the indoor playground, the trio of us crafted away. Fun!

The Brat even came and hung out with "boring old mom" and snapped pictures for us.

Butterfly worked on a knitted hat, Lishy worked on her crocheting skills and showed us how to wind a center-pull ball, and I worked on my crochet rug for my kitchen.

Best and Worst Book of 2006

Well, I usually do a top ten book list but I am embarrassed to say that in 2006........ummmm....I only read 10 books!!!!

Yarn has taken over every waking minute of my life! LOL

The best book read for 2006 was: Yarn Harlot, The Secret Life of a Knitter by Stephanie Pearl McPhee. ( duh!!!!, yarn related)

The worst book read was:The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. What a depressing book! Don't I have anough blah in my real life????!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Hope this finds you all happy and safe!

Let's hope you aren't tipsy and wearing a lampshade on your head like Gretta here! LOL

Here's to 2007!!!!!

My resolutions..... Knit more, crochet more, read more, and LOSE THE FAT!!!!!

Yarn Chick Christmas

The Yarn Chicks got together before Christmas. I gave them all dishcloths as a token of my yarny joy.
Dee's daughter, Little Mist, joined our ranks. She learned to knit from Suzy and is working on a fun fur scarf. I worked on The Brat's pillow. Dee worked on a buddy poncho in white. And......Suzy taught Sassy to knit!

MERRY KNITTY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Hello to all my faithful readers! All 4 or 5 of you! haha

The Christmas knitting and crocheting is almost finished. Yeah I know, I know, it's 10 p.m. and I'm typing on here when I should be........... FINISHING!!!! DUH!!!!

I really only have a pillow for The Brat to crochet together and 6 bowls to felt. And I don't even really need the bowls finished till New Year's Day.

I will post pics in the next few days of finished projects.

Wanted to share this picture with you now, though not a very good one. While out doing last minute shopping today, saw this tree at American Eagle. It is decorated with giant yarn balls! Totally awesome!!!!

Hope your holidays are filled with lots of yarn and friends to hang out and knit with!!!!

Knitwits

I have made two new knitty friends. We got together this morning to knit, crochet and eat......I did most of the eating. LOL

As it was really, really early no one much felt like being beautiful and so they covered their faces. As you might have noticed, I didn't even have a picture of me taken. Smart!

They, Butterfly and Lishy, are holding up Christmas dishcloths that I made and gifted to them.

It was fun and we are planning another meeting for Saturday.

Yippee!!!!

Is it too late for a Turkey pic?

I know, I know, Thanksgiving was last week but these cookies are so daggone cute! I made them for Yarnchick night.
They tasted good too!

Gobble-ey Gook

On Saturday Butterfly called and asked if I wanted to come and knit with her and her friend. Had a great time! Thanks girls for inviting me! I just love having friends who love yarn as much as me!

The Yarn Chicks got together on Monday night. I worked on some slippers. Dee worked on our buddy ponchos. Sassy worked on a pillow and a baby hat. Miz Suzie even came, we were all glad to see her. She worked on her ribbon scarf and taught Dee's daughter to knit. It was a fun night!

Hope everyone who reads this has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I will be spending most of the day with the "un-laws". I found a fun new easy crochet dishcloth pattern and will be taking the sugar and cream with me to get some finished for Christmas gifts. They are supposed to take an hour to make one. Let's see how many I can get done tomorrow while everyone else sleeps off their meal.

And lastly on a sad note:

Tomorrow , Thanksgiving, is my best friend's birthday. She took her life 4 years ago. I still greatly miss her. I also miss the innocence of my life before this happened. I will never be the same.

Buddy Pochos

It was another Yarn Chick Night! It was supposed to be at my house but I'm having issues with the neighbors so Dee moved it to her house. Thanks Dee!!!

We decided to do another "Buddy Knit" . This time ponchos. Mine is crocheted .

Dee's is knit. We are using the same brand of yarn. Yarn Bee Icelandic Jewels. It's a soft fuzzy yarn with ribbons in it. Pretty!

Dishcloth Divas

Caroline was working on a dishcloth for her M-I-L. I liked the pretty red color. She likes to make up her own dishcloth patterns , which I think is cool!

Laura was intrigued by the whole dishcloth thing so I magically pulled out a ball of Sugar and Cream from the knitting bag and Caroline got her started.

Sassy's Blanket for Her Man

Sassy has been working hard on this blanket for awhile. I am really proud of her because this is her "first" crocheted item.

It looks like she's crocheting a jar of salsa, HAHA .....but......

TADA! She finished her blanket at the yarn chick night! WOOHOO!

9 patch in "the wild"

Couldn't pass up the oportunity to grab a picture of a dishcloth I made in use. It looked good in Dee's kitchen.

Caroline was also so sweet and brought me a knit dishcloth she made me. I ran home and used it that very night! I make them all the time for others, but this was the first I actually used. I will snap a picture of it when I get a chance.

Jiffy Shrug

I made a quick shrug out of Lionbrand Jiffy and some fun fur I had in my stash. It made me look like a lumberjack so I had the chicks try it on. It looked best on Sassy so she's the proud new owner of it.

Craft Night

The Yarn Chicks had a craft night on Monday. No yarn involved! We made pumpkin centerpieces. As usual, when you get us chicks together, there turned out to be more talking and eating, less crafting. LOL

Sassy shows how we put rubberbands on our styrofoam balls to give them grooves.

Dee is tracing hands out of felt.

We lost Laura to Wife Swap. I don't think she's ever seen it!

It was a fun night!

The Yarn Chicks are coming to my house this Thursday so more FUN ahead!

Pumpkin Head Fred

Tada! Here he is finished in all his crooked eye glory!
