Yarnchick meets Yarn Harlot!!!!

Sandi soooooooo awesomely invited me to go with her to see The Yarn Harlot last night in Carmel! I OF COURSE.......said YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!

We left right after school and got there at 5. We were in the first seating group! We were so excited!

We bought the books and got our seats.








We sat and patiently waited.......

It was so exciting to see all the people there. Knitters! People who loved yarn as much as the YARNCHICK!!!

But....I must admit to the ummmm...3 people who read this...I felt so intimidated in this group. They were knitting socks. Fancy socks. They were knitting shawls. Fancy shawls. In my bag I had a .....ballband dishcloth and a crocheted thong I was working on. There was no way I was pulling those things out! lol


Sandi, of course, knit and knit, and knit. She actually finished her sock while we were there!

It was weird. I knit at the playground. I knit at the laundry mat...but there with all those fellow yarn obsessed people...I did absolutely nothing!

It was great when she got there. She is so funny! We were all having a good time!








It was so amazing to meet her!!! Wish I could thought of something good to say...I said..Hi! My name is Amy! hehehe

Let's just start by saying EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! What a week! It had it's stress and it had it's EXCITEMENT!

I worked on a project that EVEN Lishy thought was cool. A picture will be posted EVENTUALLY!

I haven't worked on the boy blanket EVEN once this week! Shame on me!

Why is EVERY friend I have trying to fix me up with men???? No, I'm not doing too well on my own, but.....lol

Today I went to Wal-Mart and did laundry with MY friend Lishy. We did some knitting at the laundry MAT. She was working on fingerless MITTS and I was working on a ballband dishcloth a la MASON DIXON!

I wasn't too happy when I had to tink two rows because I MADE a MISTAKE! It must have been the MUSIC!

I came home and had comfort food...MAC n CHEESE and M & M's. It was MARVELOUSLY yummy!

So the rest of the evening looks like this...

and sadly...it looks like it's gonna be one MORE weekend without any MANHANDLING from MAN CANDY dammit! ROFLOL!

I am working on ANOTHER blanket. This one is the star pattern. I like the pattern, looks good and is easy to do. But.....The yarn sucks! Red Heart hard ASS stuff! I didn't pick it! ALICIA hung out with me today! It is kinda scary how in many ways we are ALIKE! We ATE and played around on the computer and then got sleepy and called it a day.

BUTTCHEEKS- Looky who I dragged around on Sunday and made her do all the ooh sooooo fun thingys I do on Sundays with me...and she didn't even whine a bit...it's a buttcheek...Lishy!!!

BLAH- The dullness of my life...hehehe

BARF- What The Teenager has done on and off since last Thursday and we ended up taking her to the emergency room in the middle of the night last night to get an i.v. of fluids. They said this stomach stuff is lasting 2 to 10 days...she's on day 6. It's been a scary deal with her diabetes and her blood sugars going so low from not eating and the puking.


BOWL HEAD- I think she is the only person I know who would walk into a laundry mat with a crocheted bowl on her head....that's why we get along so well!!! LOL

BUTTHEAD- The father of The Teenager....do we have to say anything else on this subject????NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And last but not least...

BLANKET- When I mentioned in a previous post that I thought this was gonna be the year of the afghan, I literally did not mean ONE FREAKING BLANKET!!!

This baby blanket is taking forever and a day to finish. I have till next Thursday to get it done. I just started on my last skein of yarn and refuse to go buy another. It will be the shape it turns out to be when the yarn is gone. If it is not a square....then I will deal with it.....it will be kinda hard to deal with it cause I'm a square kinda chick but as I might have mentioned before...I AM SOOOOOOOO OVER WORKING ON THIS BLANKET!!!!

I feel so much better now!!!!

In The Works

I , as usual, have a lot of things started but only one finished! These fingerless gloves were fun and quick to make. Won't need them now cause it is thankfully getting warmer out! I got the pattern from crochetme.

This is a baby blanket for a friend. I love the pattern and I love the color but....I made the blanket too big to begin with and it is taking me so long to finish it! People who know me know that I can't finish it when it is atleast a rectangle...it's gotta be a square! lol

Other things I have yet to finish...A really cute ribbon tied shrug. It could be finished in a days time but the above baby blanket is taking first place with my time.

I also have a boy blue star baby blanket to start on next. I need to find out when this baby is due cause I might be in serious trouble!

I want to make a new antenna cover for my car. Last years is faded. And I want to make a steering wheel cover to match.

The Year of the Afghan

2007 was the year of the dishcloth. Over 100 of them to be exact. They were fun to make and helped to fill the time, especially at the firework's store when my mind was off in so many places.

This year is probably gonna be the year of the afghan. This first one is for me, my livingroom. It's to snuggle under and keep me warm when I am watching a dvd in my sexless, manless life. Hehe! That sounds depressing!

It looks kinda red, white, and blue on my computer...it isn't. It's burgundy, gray, and navy blue. It's out of I Love This Yarn, and I actually do love this yarn! It's becoming my new yarn crack!

The next afghan will be for Phoebe's upcoming offspring. Can't wait to get started on that one!
